Campoli Psychology

Hi there, and welcome!

I’m Dr. Jessica Campoli (or simply, Jessica!). I’m a Clinical and Health Psychologist who is passionate about providing research-informed therapy that is infused with compassion and care. I thoroughly enjoy helping people to identify and achieve a life that is meaningful to them. I enjoy helping others to achieve psychological health, as well as to develop a lifestyle that promotes and maintains their physical health. As a Clinical and Health psychologist, I am attuned to how our mental and physical health needs can intersect.

In our work together, we will develop a treatment plan that is informed by your needs and preferences, as well as what is indicated by research to be effective for the presenting concern. Non-judgement, curiosity, warmth, and building a safe and collaborative therapeutic space is central to my role and identity as a psychologist. I integrate various therapy approaches to best meet your needs (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure Therapy, etc.). I strive to be authentic and values-driven in my work, and this includes honoring diversity and individual differences and using these to inform treatment.

I work with a variety of issues spanning both mental and physical health issues, including:

  • Anxiety and phobias
  • Depression
  • Living with an acute illness/disease or chronic health condition (e.g., pain)
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Sleep or insomnia
  • Stress management and burnout
  • Trauma or PTSD

I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2021, and my B.A. (Hons) in Psychology from York University in 2011. In 2020, I completed my pre-doctoral residency at the Ottawa Hospital, where I provided therapy, assessment, and consultation to adults in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings regarding a wide range of mental and physical health concerns (e.g., cancer, end-of-life, fear and anxiety related to a physical health diagnosis).

Moreover, My Ph.D. dissertation focused on stress management among students in professional health and helping disciplines. My dissertation aimed to address the challenges associated with training in professional programs and reflects my commitment to developing interventions that are directly informed by clients, and to individualized and preventative health solutions. I have presented on a values-based approach to stress and burnout at conferences and various health and educational settings. Throughout my clinical training and employment, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings including private practice, hospitals, community agencies, and university clinics. As an avid life-long learner, I am always looking for new ways to grow professionally by attending training and workshops.

Outside of my professional life, I value staying connected to the people and things that keep me grounded. I enjoy spending time with family and friends (including my tuxedo cat!), being outside in nature noticing its imperfect perfection, staying active (especially swimming), and exploring new places. When creativity sparks, I enjoy painting and especially abstract art that is full of color and vibrancy.
